Well, its been a while since the last Blog, but have no fear I'm back with good stuff. Sunday we visited a pastor friend of ours in Duncan Oklahoma (Russ and Sandy Stewart), had a great time. We were going to leave Duncan and head towards Big "D" but Russ and Sandy said "you must visit the Indian Museum at Fort Sill Oklahoma and the museum of the Chisholm Trail. So, another day we stayed. First the Chisholm Trail Museum. What a great place, I had heard of the Chisholm Trail but like most of the time in school my mind must have been somewhere else. So for a short history note, the Chisholm Trail was named for Jess Chisholm. The trail went from south Texas to Abilene Kansas. It was a trail that Longhorn cattle were driven on to the Market. Ok, so much for the Trail. Then it was on to Fort Sill. Fort Sill is huge, and its history is even larger. We went to the Indian Museum on base and guess what, it was closed. But, as luck would have it, the head Curator was there and offered to give us a personal tour of the Museum. Towana Spivey a Chickasaw Indian by blood gave us the most informative tour you could possibly have. Informative and insight to what really happened and how the Indians adapted to the white mans world. Then it was off the the Apache Cemetery on base. There was the grave of Geronimo and his wives. Yep, another Polygamist, 7 wives. As Towana explained it the women didn't last long so you needed several. Enjoy the pictures, See Ya (what happened to those stinking Chargers?)
