Dallas in the rear view mirrow

A hundred and seventy miles away from Dallas. Tye Texas, just west of Abilene, the weather here is warm and clear. But, according to the rv park manager a cool front is moving in. Tye Texas, this place is so small you wouldn't even know it was here, except, for a couple of things. Well, more than a couple of things. Lets start with the really big things. Dyess Air Force Base, We are camped directly in line with the flight line, and the flight line ain't that far away. Now guess what is stationed here, B1 bombers. When these guys take off the noise is un-believable. When we first got here nothing was said about the flight line, much less the Air Force Base. As we were docking the starship a B1 was landing, I thought there must be a metor falling from the sky, I looked up to see dangling wheels, a lot of them, flaps down, and I could have thrown a rock at it. I thought maybe it was crashing, but wait, here comes another one. Obviously there's a base here, and close. Ok, that ain't all, there seems to be a major rail track within a half mile, and here in Texas there is not much to stop the noise.

Now remember when I was in Kansas and the rv parks were bragging about storm shelters? Guess what? Tye RV park also has a storm shelter, complete with warning system. On the good side however the RV park also has a fishing lake, such as it is.

We also went into Abilene today to see the town name after the song "Abilene, prettiest town that I ever seen", that must be an old song, or maybe it was Abilene Kanasa. One thing Abilene does have is large, very large churhes. Here is a picture of one, but there are several and they are huge.

Tomorrow its further west and into New Mexico to Carlsbad.

See ya

Is the old bus covered by dirt a storm shelter? If so, I'm not sure how safe I would feel.
