As we left the Bad Lands of S. Dakota we droped into Nebraska, really not much different in landscape though. Our desires to see small town America are being met. Valentine is small, but for this part of the country not so small. Our campground was within 150 yds of a stock yard. Now for you city folk, a stock yard is a place where stock (cattle, sheep, goats) is taken to be sold. Lucky for us we were upwind, un-lucky was the fact that flys can fly upwind. Also within a quarter mile is the local rodeo grounds and friday night is rodeo night. So for all you cowboys and cowgirls gid-de-up. Walking around the town of Valentine was fun. Valentine is the spot to get married on Feb 14th as you can imagine. The major store in Valentine sells, what? Cowboy stuff of course. Like S. Dakota, Valentine is old west cow country, everything revolves around live stock. There are some pretty spots however that you would not expect to find on the planes of Nebraska, A water fall, not very tall but it was a waterfall. Today we are in a campground between Waco and York Nebraska. Now this is a great campspot, very well kept and nice. However, I do have a little concern. Part of the ammenites here is a STORM SHELTER. Why do you promote a storm shelter. Is this suppose to make me feel good? I guess if you need it, it would make you feel good. If someone thinks I'm going to be here when you need it they haven't noticed there are wheels on the bottom of this house. Monday we head south again this time we are headed to Salina, Kansas. See Ya.
