Kansas, part of the "Bread Basket". The soil here is a dark choclate, wet or dry. Today it is wet. I have been amazed at the crops in the field and the wheat has already been harvested. But like Nebraska there is corn and more corn plus Milo, Soy beans, Pumpkins and other crops that I got no idea what they are. We are stopping in to see some friends in Witchata Ks. tomorrow so it should be a great day. Supposedly, No Rain. Another thing about the crops here, most are not irragated, just rain, and the water table here is really near the surface, like 10 to 15 feet, thus you have little ponds here and there plus everything stays pretty green. Oh yea, the down side here, well there's a couple, one you already know about, Toronados. According to the locals though the toranados here are of the small variety that just dance around the ground and you got no idea where they are headed or if they will just lift and go home. Now the ones you got to be scared of are the ones in Oklahoma, these get to be f5 in size and that means they can be as much as a mile across, they don't dance and they don't lift, they just plow and destroy. The second down side is there ain't a mountain or hill insight, FLAT as the table top here. The onlyl elevation you get here is an overpass or a two story house. How do you keep your sence of direction here? I don't know. I never been this turned around in my life. We had to go and buy a second GPS just to keep in the car to keep from getting lost. I even got lost coming out of the store this morning, had no idea where the car was. Luckly the gypsy was with me and pointed me in the right direction. Enjoy the Pictures. SEE YA
