Savannah Ga. and Paula Deen

Just got back from Savannah Ga. and had a great time. Tomorrow we'll talk about Savannah but right now I want to talk Paula Deen. Had a great experience there, but. Yeh there is a big but here. So, The Gypsy and I find Paulas and luckily get a seat right away. The Menu looked so good, I mean everything there looked fabulous, had a hard time making up my mind, so, what do you do in this situation? you ask the waitress for a little help. "so young lady, I'm having a hard time trying to decide from these 3 items, what would you suggest?" With out hesitation she says, "the asparagus sandwich, it's an award winner." Good enough for me, that's what I'll have. The Gypsy orders the Chicken Pot Pie, safe order, no risk there, for me it's a little risky, an Asparagus sandwich. Who has ever heard of an asparagus sandwich? Ok, to be safe I also order the Black eyed pea hummus. As the waitress brings out our food I get the rest of the story behind the Asparagus sandwich. She says, The O's visited here a few years ago and Mrs O being into healthy food suggested they make an asparagus sandwich. Now to tell ya the truth if I had known Mrs O had a part in this sandwich I would have ordered something else. I mean even the kids lunch programs were a failure, the kids all hated them. Now I'm about to partake in a failure. But wait, this was an award winner. So lets give it a good try, I mean, I could be wrong with my annalists, lets see. Before I take a bite I take a look at that chicken pot pie, sure looks good. First bite. Yep, just like I thought. Who gave this an award? and what was the award for? Probably the WH staff. was involved. This was no doubt my fault, First, why did I go to Paula Deen's, did I go there for healthy food? no, I went there for Southern, Sinful, Butter, fried, southern comfort food. Is that what I ordered, NO, I ordered an award winning menu suggestion from Mrs O.
