This blog is to note the travels and experiences of the Captain and his Gypsy. Where will they go and what will they see. I just don't know. Stay tuned.

Quartzsite and a personal observation
The Gypsy and I took a short excursion to Quartzsite Arizona. Quartzsite is a small non-relative wide spot in the road, well, maybe a little larger than that but not much. There is something about Quartzsite in the winter, the place explodes and becomes a megatropillis, if that's a word. The northwest, Canada, and people that don't claim anyplace congregate in this community and stay for 3 to 5 months. There are RV resorts, RV parks, and then there is the most popular space, THE DESERT. The Desert, and I do mean in the strictest of terms, the Desert. There is no hook-ups, no water, no electricity, and no sewer. So the next question is how, how do they do it? The desert rv'ers are well equipped. Wind power, generators, solar panels, or a combination of all provide the electricity. The local honey wagon tours the desert looking for those who need to have there sewage tanks flushed, and then there is water trucks that also cruise to replenish fresh water needs. As you might of guessed there is a fee for these services, so the desert rv'er is very, cautious, resourceful, and thoughtful. Enough about the living facilities. Lets talk rv'ers. You can't help but notice the generation living here at Quartzsite, is the generation just before mine, or at least I would like to think that. The generation most represented is 70 to 80. They speak a little louder than the rest and that's because their friends would not be able to hear them. There clothes are meant to cover. Its not unusual to see some guy with knee socks, tennis shoes, plaid shirt, and striped shorts. Hey, he's covered. Now put these people in a small area and you have Quartzsite. Now the next ingredient is the Quartzsite RV show. These people come from all over southern Arizona, including Pueblo El Mirage. The Quartzsite show features everything RV. If its remotely related to RV'ing, it is there. Also featured are rv destination sites, sites from Alaska to Mexico and also Europe. Ok, there was a new one featured at this show, and to my surprise, there were several people getting info. It was a rv campground catering to the NUDEST. Come on people, I just described the people at this show, This is not the type of people you want to see nude. In fact that is the reason I did not go back to Pool Boy here at Pueblo El Mirage. Well we made it home, laughing all the way. I wish I could have taken pictures but it would just have made you cry or laugh, depending on your generation.
