Get your white on

   Really big competition started today. "The Men's Singles Championship". The Game "Lawn Bowling". This is a game I previously said I would never play. Remember, when you say "Never" you are really setting yourself up. 5 years ago when we first came to this park "Pueblo El Mirage" Here is a bunch of people wearing all white rolling these balls across a lawn. I made the comment to the Gypsy that it would be a cold day in you know where when I would be caught out there. Well, cold days happen a lot more often then we would like. By the end of that year I was out rolling that ball, know as a bowl, across that lawn. Let it be known however that I refused to wear white. They don't always wear white but on the days they did, those were the days I did something else. Pride you know. Can you imagine me wearing all white? Me either. So the only time we have to wear this white costume is on Saturdays, or club sanctioned tournaments. Ok, from I'll never play that game to I'll never wear that white Costume to, you got it, Total White. White shoes, socks, pants, shirt, hat, and even white sunglasses. My pride has been totally stripped, I've conformed, and yielded to pier pressure. The only good thing I can relay on is that I have advanced to the next round. Beat my opponent today 18 to 6. Tomorrow at 10am round 2. The competition will start to get difficult now. This is single elimination, so half of the competitors are gone after today. Now its just winners against winners. We started with 26 players, were down to 13 now. Tomorrow, more will be eliminated, I'll need a lot of luck tomorrow. OK, its tomorrow and here is an update after this mornings game. I'M STILL IN. We're down to the final 8 and I'm one of them. Got really lucky today. The game goes to who ever reaches 18 first. I was down 15 to 5 and some how pulled it out for an 18 to 16 win. Oh my. You know what they say, " Luck beats skill everyday". Ok, I have a meeting at 12 and the next round at 2. Hope the luck holds, cause I need it. Another up date to follow. Posted are some pictures from today. Hold on, I just got back from the 2pm game and, Big, I mean BIG breaking news, I'm in the Semi-finals, final 4. Tomorrow we start breaking in down. Big, Big problem though, the 3 other guys in the final 4 are all past champions. Oh, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.
