It has come to my attention that I have talked about our Canadian trip and said "see photos", but, I have not posted the photos or said much about the trip, So, to clean up from the year 2012, here we go.
We were invited to visit with friends in Canada. Drove thru Canada a few years ago, but never really stopped to see Canada or any part of Canada. So the invite to Vancouver Canada was something we could just not pass up plus we had great friends to show us around. Vancouver was not at all what I expected, in many ways. First, WHAT A SETTING. A "city on the bay" does not do justice to this setting. How do you describe your initial thoughts of the city's skyline and inner parts. Its kind of like an updated Disneyland that does not have a fake facaid. The city is much bigger and modern than I had expected. I thought San Diego had high rise Condos, but nothing like Vancouver. The bay and water ways were picturesque and constantly in motion. This was truly a beautiful place. Another thing I did not expect was the cost to survive here. Now that the US Dollar and the Canadian Dollar are on even ground it was easy to see the cost of living in Vancouver. You better have a lot of dollars to live at the same level as you are acustom to in the States. An example. I am sure that everyone knows I like to enjoy a glass of wine now and then. When Al and Inez came to pick us up in Seattle they mentioned that we might want to stop at COSTCO and buy a bottle or two of wine to take into Canada. So We chose a bottle of Zin that cost $7 something. Fair enough. While in Canada Inez said "take a look here". The same bottle of Zin in Canada was $29. So its quiet obvious, Canadians don't drink much at home, Ah, but then there is Arizona. Took many photos in Vancouver and here are a few of my favorites.
Now, what do you think, Nice place huh?
