A journey into the past. The Mesa Verde indians lived and amazing life. There civilization lasted about 800 yrs. in this particular location. The theory is that the building process of these ruins lasted about 75 yrs. Access to these dwellings in there time period was difficult at best. Today is a little easier. The access today was built in the 1930's and OSHA was not involved. The steps and passage ways are steep, narrow, and tight, and for this wide body it was real tight. In fact there was one tour of the "Balcony House" that I just couldn't go on. You as why. Well there was one part of the tour that you had to crawl through a 12 foot long tunnel that was only 18" wide. Not that I couldn't fit thru,its that I get a little Clostrophobic, and that is just not enough room for me. Posted are some of the photos from today.
