IT'S BEEN A YEAR

As I sat down this evening I realized the Gypsy and I have been on the road for a year. Actually we left on April 25, 2008. What a year. When the Gypsy and I started this adventure we said "lets do this for 2 years, sell the Starship and settle back into a house." Great idea, however I'm not sure that's going to work out. In a year we really haven't seen nearly as much as we thought we would. The journey started quiet well, staying 1 week at each stop. Then of course you remember those nasty Oil Companies that drove the price of oil up to well over $100 a barrel. That's when we paid $4.79 a gallon for diesel and we decided to make some changes in our travel. We found a JOB. Turned out it was a great find. We became Camp Host for the state of Utah at a park just outside of Park City. I believe we stayed there 3 months, made some great friends and had a great time, and saved money. Then it was off and running again. Heading south along the west coast we made it back to our old stomping grounds, San Diego, Ca. After staying there a month it was off to the Phoenix valley to spend the winter. Another great stop. We stayed at Pueblo El Mirage for 4 months. It started out as just 3 months but the weather was perfect and we just couldn't leave. So lets see, 12 months in a year, 7 months parked, that means we were on the road 5 months. Now you see why 2 years is stretching out. Thats the problem with Motorhoming. In that 5 months we have visited some of the greatest sites that this country has to offer, and we haven't been east of New Mexico, and just barely gotten into Colorado. This next year we are headed to the top of Idaho and maybe a little excursion into Canada, and then its back to the states and East. That as much as we know. Oh before I forget, there was some other great news for the Gypsy and I. We're Grandparents. A beautiful little girl came to the family thru our oldest son and favorite daughter in law. Her name is Lorali. I was told the other day "Grandchildren are the rewards for not killing your children". And she is a great reward. I have posted just a few photos from our journeys. Looking forward to this next year to see where the starship will wander. So from the flight deck of the starship escape, SEE YA.
