It all started last week, things seem to be going pretty well, the sun was shining, the temp. was in my comfort zone and I had done my last 2 days of work for the resort here at Pueblo El Mirage. Remember in the last post I stated "a great plan always has a weak link", well sometimes that weak link can be time, too fast or too slow. So hears the plan. At the end of the ultimate plan we would have a different car, a little smaller and a little lighter so that I would feel more comfortable towing it behind the motorhome, that way the Gypsy could ride with me in the motor home and listen to what I sing while I'm driving alone. That was the goal to be accomplished, oh say sometime during the summer around October, just before we would leave for Arizona. So here is how it actually went down. Jeremy, flies to Arizona to pick up the Gypsy's little Z3 and take it back to Salt Lake for us. While on the trip he gets hit by a drunk or substance abuse user and the Gypsy's pride and joy is damaged. Luckily Jeremy was undamaged and the Little car sustained only scrapes and bruised. Lucky being the optime word, it could have been sooooo much worse for all. It ends up with a call from Jeremy saying the last time I saw the girl who hit me she was wearing matching braclets and sitting in the back of a black and white car, but all is well, the car is drivable and I'm heading on to Salt Lake. Ok, one car down. Next, Jason has been after my Harley for some time now and in a weak moment I decided to let him have it, in exchange for a few trinkets, bobbles and beads. So, Jason is also down for the weekend and he takes off with my beloved bike for California. After a farewell kiss [ to the bike] and a few tears, another era has come to a close. So, Tuesday the Gypsy decides to go and see her mom and dad in Ca. before we pack up and leave for Utah. All is still going well. Then I get a call from the Gypsy and she says, "I sold the Honda". A moment of silence and a quick flash back to reality. The Z car is in Utah, slightly damaged, the Harley is in Southern Ca. and she has just sold our only transportation. Is she flying home? cause I'm down to a bike, PEDAL BIKE at that. Then I hear over the phone, you still there? more silence, Dean, are you there? Yes, but I think I need a drink. I'm coming home tomorrow and I will bring the car back to mom and dad at a later time. I'm thinking later time? what does that mean. So the Gypsy gets back home with the car and I'm a little relieved. Then the phone rings and her mom and dad just sold there car. once again, silence overwhelms me. But, I still have a bike. What are we going to do now? So the Gypsy and I begin to talk, we need a car. Brilliant deduction Watson. Well, lets just go look and see whats out there, but first a pinky sweat, "We will not buy a car tonight, we still have time, lets just go look" another brilliant plan my dear Watson. So, we bought a Ford Focus, fits our needs to a tee. Didn't need the bicycle after all. Wheeeeeeee, what a ride.
This blog is to note the travels and experiences of the Captain and his Gypsy. Where will they go and what will they see. I just don't know. Stay tuned.
