The day the music died

For those of you with a little age on ya, you may remember a song with the lyrics "the day the music died" and "bye bye miss american pie". So this entry has a little play on the words "the day the music died". There comes a time in life for most of us when we realize nothing is free forever and if you want more you must work for it. The days of the rat following the pied piper are over. No more tripping thru life just following the music without a care in the world. Taking command of your own life is much more pleasing than allowing others to dictate your outcome. Success on your own is accelerating. I know there are some who will say "you didn't get there on your own, you had help", for some that may be true, but for others it's pure fight and determination. Ok, enough of these pearls of wisdom. Who quit being a rat led by the pied piper and whose music died yesterday. A little 4 year old boy playing his 3rd or 4th soccer game scored his first goal. Hands thrown in the air reaching for the sky while the crowd screamed and yelled his name. At that moment the music died. Now, success was at his command if he pushed hard enough. At the end of the day, 5 goals and an assist. Way to go Carsten, and don't look back, no more following someone else's music and no more being a rat in the crowd.

But wait, there's more

Success in life starts somewhere for everyone. Someone else tasted success yesterday on the field of competition. She may not of scored 5 goals as her brother did, buy she did score a hard fought goal in front of a crowed goal net and against a determined goalie. Head down pushing thru the crowd to get in position for an opportunity that may come her way, and yes it did. Some might say she was lucky, but no, she worked for it. Remember, success is when opportunity meets preparation. Life has turning points all along the way, yesterday was a big day for turning points. At the end of the day Carsten says I scored 5 goals you only scored 1, The returned comment to keep her brother in place was "Yea but I scored against a goalie". You see at 4 you don't play against a goalie and miss Lorali needed to keep him in check, being the older sister and all.
