Go SOUTH ole man, go SOUTH

As you can see from the posted photos, South is where I should be heading. As we left Salt Lake City, we did head south, but, obviously not far enough. We turned west around Fillmore Ut. and headed west. Hwy 50 was the road chosen. Little did we know that Hwy 50 has the label of "The Loneliesssst road in America". They were not lying. Not only was it the loneliest hyw in America it had the loneliesssst towns in America also. I think maybe 2 but no more than 3 towns, and I was concerned about stopping in any of them. Lucky for me I had just filled up the fuel tank on the Starship. Now about the weather. When we left Salt Lake City it was raining and nasty, so we stopped at the Walmart, then it was on to Nephi, now it was snow and hail, then it was on to Cold Springs for a 22 deg. night. Today we're in Susanville Ca. and its a little cool but not bad. Cold Springs was a pleasant stop. As we traveled down the loneliest hwy in America the plan was to stop somewhere along the way, but as I said, I didn't see anyplace where I would even slow down, so the results was we just kept driving, 7 hours, and then out on the horizon, what is that up there? It was a Bar/restaurant with a small rv site located in back with full hookups. Ok, exhaust brakes on, pedal brake on, turn signal on, slow turn to the left, and were home for the night. Even though I've given Hwy 50 a little bad press, it still has the small town America feel which is always great. As you can see from the last photo, American art is alive and well. Out of know where, on Hwy 50, in the middle of nowhere stands this lone tree, decorated proudly with the soles of many an American. Tomorrow we head to Redding Ca. for a few days and then its SOUTH. Go SOUTH ole man go South. So from the Bridge of the Starship, SEE YA
