I have given quiet a bit of thought about posting this entry and have obviously decided to go forward. As you might have noticed rarely do I post about Religion and Politics or anything else that's not humorous to some degree. Not saying religion and politics can't be humorous it's just that some don't see the humor.
It's Friday morning about 7:30 and the gypsy is still in bed, the last thing I heard from the gypsy was turn on the heater, and then all is quiet again. So it's a perfect time to collect all my thoughts and see if they can filter down thru my fingers to this new computer which I truly don't like. Well, maybe it's not as much the computer as it's windows 10. Why did they ever get rid of XP?
This post will deal with some sobering thoughts about a race.
Rounding turn 4 is a statement used in horse racing about coming into the stretch run and seeing the finish line just ahead. Cheers and roses as everyone stands as the riders can now just barely see the finish line. Like no other race, this one, is constantly starting and ending. As the riders barrel towards the finish line they can see just ahead new riders leaving the gate as everyone stands and cheers them on. So as you can see, in this race, everyone's a winner, and your reward is a participation metal. As you look at the metals that are to be awarded there is gold, silver and bronze. Gold is for "Great race way to go", Silver "Great race but you could have done a little better", and Bronze, "Good race but you need to put a lot more effort into it".
This week I had two friends cross the finish line and get their participation metals, couldn't tell which metals they received cause I'm still in the race, hopefully they were golds.
As you round turn 4, you begin to think about the race you've been in and wonder how well you've been doing. You look ahead and see riders barely hanging onto the saddle horn and others in an all out drive urging their horse for more speed, and as you look over your shoulder behind you, there are more riders, some leaning into the turn and giving it all they got and fighting to keep their balance, and others, just waving to the crowd in a carefree daisy picking Sunday morning ride, they got no idea about the hurdles and the sloppy track that lies ahead for them in the stretch run. The stretch run is where you put it all together, You remember the mistakes from turns 1 and 2, your thankful for the back stretch where you really began to focus on the race and put yourself into position for turns 3 and 4, and then you look up, and your in turn 4, and the track ahead, well here is where it all pays off. Sloppy track ahead, put on your goggles and get a grip.
The gypsy is up, got a go, Ride on friends, ride on.
