To those who follow the Captain and his Gypsy sorry for the lapse in entrys. Here it is, another year has risen and now has fallen, and a new one has just begun with a beautiful sun rise. A little cold outside for this southern california boy, but cold is realivent, you see its only 37, for some of you that may be the high for the day, but for the captain and the gypsy, chasing the sun has been our ever intention. Here we are, 8 years on a 2 year quest. Who would ever have thunk we would have gotten into this rut. On the other hand this so called rut is pretty nice, no complaints, well, not many anyway. I guess the only thing I really miss from my other life is my garage, where I use to sit, watch tv, pittle with small projects, and watch the neighbors go to work and come home. So, the garage is gone, an the car is in constant need of a wash. So this once retired civil servant now goes to work again. Please, show me no pitty, life has not been this good, ever. I may live in a 300 sq. ft. house that at times feels a little unstable, but, as the gypsy would say, "just how long does it take for you to clean your house?, mine takes about an hour, and that includes a couple of breaks." Our house sometimes feels like a large bedroom with a small kitchenette. Our life is now outdoors, I have seen more sunrise and sunsets than ever before, I have seen more friends than ever before, I have laughed more than ever before. I am more tired than ever before, and I hurt more than ever before. As I have always said, "this retirement life isn't for everyone, just the tough". New sport this year, PICKLE BALL. Over the last few years the old body has gotten use to the rigors of golf once a week, and lawn bowling three time a week, now, it must learn to cope with the new pain and exhaustion of Pickle ball, twice a week. I would leave this lifestyle and go back to my garage, but I'm not sure I could slow down enough to fit in again. Well, that's enough for now, and I promise to be a little more attentive to the blog this year. In fact I have already started thinking about the next entry which will be about what I know for sure. So, see ya and have a great new year. May God bless you in the new year of 2015. The Capatin and his Gypsy.
