A journey thru time

Every time we come to San Diego it's a journey back thru time and our lives. I came to San Diego back in the late 50's just a kid going into the 6th grade. Karen, the Gypsy was born here. All she knew was San Diego, and a trip once in awhile back to Utah to see her grandparents. So, San Diego became home and all that I really knew. Texas was my original home and Texas still holds a lot of great memories. But, things change. Texas isn't what it use to be and San Diego for sure isn't what it use to be. Coming from Corpus Christi Texas to San Diego was like night and day. The first thing that made an impression on me in San Diego was The El Cortez Hotel, a real sky scraper, a real building with more then 3 stories, it must have at least 20 floors, in Corpus you had to find an overpass on the road to see any distance. Well the El Cortez is still here, but, to find it you have to know where to look. So, for the last few days we have been floating thru our past, seeing friends, visiting  Faith Chapel where the Gypsy and I first met, and just remembering and seeing all the places and things of a past life. Tomorrow we head out for Temecula/Murrieta where we are storing our past life. That will be another entry for a later time. So, last night some friends were celebrating there 25th wedding aniv. on a diner cruises on San Diego Bay, and the sights of San Diego at night is what triggered all this thought. There are a couple of cities that have really beautiful skylines, San Diego is certainly one of them. With out a doubt this is a beautiful place, with beautiful people, as long as you don't look to deep. I have truly enjoyed the last few days. PS remember I still don't like California. Enjoy the pictures. Some may be a little blury, I'm on a boat you know.
