Well gang, as you can see I don't post to the Blog as much as I use to, but then, I'm older than I use to be. Maybe I'm just slowing down a bit. So, here it is, Monday morning sitting here in the Starship and it's a little cold outside so I haven't ventured out yet. I thought we were through with winter but here it is a chilly 62 degrees. I would go outside but I can't find my jacket with the long sleeves, and who knows where my closed toe shoes are.
Well, come April 1st and the Gypsy and I, the Captain, will have been on the road for 11 years. Now I know there are some out there that would say, "Oh I could never do that, I just couldn't leave my house", or "Don't you wish you had a home to go back too", and "don't you get cabin fever in that small motor home (36' with 2 slides ain't that small) ?". No, No, and No. As I sit here trying to find some reason for not liking this lifestyle we have chosen, I start looking around at my surroundings. First, I'm looking out a large window in the front of the Starship (the windshield) where I can see right away, 5 American Flags flying in a light breeze. The Starship is decorated and trimmed in knotty Walnut wood, ceramic tile in the kitchen and bathroom, a queen size sleep number bed in the bedroom along with a double closet. The front room has hardwood floors, LED lighting throughout, Corina counter top, convection microwave, unlimited hot water, a dining room table that can seat 4, A/C and forced air heating, 100 gals of fresh water on board if needed, and a large diesel fueled generator if the city loses power. Now here are the real Bennie's. I can get to the bathroom from my bed in 4 steps, the Gypsy can clean the whole house in 1 hour, and if I don't like the neighbors, I simply move to a new neighborhood. Now, don't you feel sorry for me and the Gypsy. So, 11 years of Bliss.
Ok, so the dwellings are pretty comfortable, so, just what do you do besides live in the Starship? That will be the next post to the Blog.
11 years, I have never lived anywhere longer than 10 years.
See Ya , the Captain
