The day after, and I'm Thankful

It's the day after Thanksgiving and I am truly Thankful.
Once again it's early morning and I am searching the web for news and entertainment before the day turns into a sprint. The web as always is full of news, true and false, and of course there is always a full supply of entertainment. Especially before and after an election.
So now that the morning chores of searching the web is over, thought goes to yesterday and today and to just how thankful I am. The Gypsy's life and mine is out of control. It seems as though we are both leaves floating down a lazy slow running river somewhere with no control of direction or speed. Destination, somewhere. Every year about this time the Gypsy and I start asking the question, What does the next year bring? Wish I could answer that, but leaves can't speak, we just float forward. As I have said in the past, this adventure was designed as a two year tour. The first of April will mark year number 10. Who would have guessed. This Thanksgiving we stayed in the Resort and gathered with friends. Jason was gathering with friends and Jeremy and Grace along with the best grandchildren in the world were with family in Las Vegas. Everyone was safe and secure and we could relax and reflect on just how fortunate we were. Thankful, just doesn't seem to be a big enough word to describe how we feel, but it's all I have for now.
The Gypsy and I have decided not to work this year at the Resort, instead we thought we would try the retired life. So far, retired living seems to agree with both of us. The Gypsy has discovered Pickle Ball, and a rising star is beginning to sparkle in the desert sun. People think she is such a nice pleasant person, until they make a bad shot and she returns a slam at their feet, of course there is always an apology followed by a small snicker as she returns to position. Some how, I always thought an apology was suppose to be accompanied by humility. Well, that obviously doesn't apply to sports.
As I said earlier, I am truly truly Thankful, All is well (except for a water leak somewhere in the basement of the coach which I will work on today) and I look forward to the future and the promise of tomorrow.
As we leave the holiday of Thanksgiving behind and head towards Christmas and the celebration of Christs birth I wish the best for all of you. Remember, today is the first day of the rest of your life, be wise on how you start and finish it and above all be thankful.

The Captain and his Gypsy.
