Spam o Rama

Some time in October we had a small gathering of friends. Party planing for the year was the topic of the evening. A unique idea surfaced that we should have a SPAM party. I do realize there are some of my friends that come from the finer side of life and have no idea what SPAM is, other than spam on there computers. For the rest of us SPAM stands for "special processed american meat". SPAM can be bought at any fine super market but you may have to look for it. It now comes in several different flavors other than original. A little extra trivia is that SPAM is a staple in Hawaii and Guam, and of course the South, also, it was introduced in 1937.  So Back to the SPAM party, all food brought must have SPAM as an ingredient. I'm sure you are saying who would go to a SPAM party like that. 60 people and there were hard feelings from others who weren't invited. SPAM dishes included Macaroni cheese and SPAM, Coconut crusted SPAM balls, several chili dishes with SPAM, rice and SPAM, Beans and SPAM, Deviled eggs and SPAM, and for desert, Chocolate Chip Cookies with SPAM. Not a single bad dish in sight. Who would have thought SPAM could bring everyone togather for a night of good food, fun and laughter.
I am really sorry there is no pictures, especially since it seems everyone and there brother is posting food pictures on the internet. I really missed an oportunity on this one.
