This is the one I warned you about. Below is a BIG RED line. Not to be confused by the ones we have heard of in he past, this is for real. I have several friends and relatives that may think, "he's got it all wrong" or "he just dosen't understand the big picture", but when you drive a big motor home for hundreds of miles and you have time to think and observe you begin to ask some serious questions. Like here I am in New Mexico, looking for a place to buy gas. What are you paying for reg. gas? In New Mexico, how about $3.02, WHY?
CAUTION --------------------- CAUTION ------------------ CAUTION --------------------- CAUTION

THIS IS THE RED LINE I WAS TALKING ABOUT
When I first started writing this BLOG, several years ago it was for friends and relatives who wanted to keep track of where the Captain and the Gypsy were traveling and what they were doing. This entry is for my children and especially my grandchildren. Some time in the future I want them to be able to look back and see what there grandfather thought, and what his concerns were. The future that they now live in. I don't want to sound like, I really don't know what I want to sound like, other than fearful.
We, as American people need to be really careful as to how much we allow the Government, Federal, State, or Local to enter or control our lives. For that matter, Hollywood or the Media too, but especially the Federal Government. Yes, we need a Federal Government, but it needs to be limited.
The Native American (Indian) was once a proud, resourceful nation, Now, not so much. A couple of days ago we were traveling thru Shiprock Colorado, this community is predominately decedents of Native Americans. The place would have made their ancestors tear up. When the American Indian was pushed from his home the Federal Government said let us take care of you. We will give you this land and we will provide for you. Sounds almost like affordable care. We, the federal government have stripped them of their pride, and they have become a nation of downtrodden people dependent on someone else to provide for them. The Federal Government can really make a program sound good, like the Affordable Care Act. For very little money we can provide everyone with great health care. Now really, who could be against that? We would all like great health care for very little money, especially with the cost of health care going up like it has. But that type of rhetoric is for what I like to call "surface thinkers". People who look only at the icing on the cake, and not whats under the icing. The sheer thought of the Federal Government running the program should issue caution enough. I could go on and on on this subject but its frustrating just thinking about it.
Lets talk Government Shut down, Traveling thru southern Utah and stopping in Moab, home to "Arches National Park", it was closed, We the federal government does not have enough money to keep it open. Really? So are you telling me the rangers who were patrolling the park and are now keeping me from entering are not being paid. Have you gone to a national park lately? They don't let you in for free. The gift shops are closed also. Have you bought anything from one of those gift shops? Believe me there making money. So why close them down? Cause this is a good way of sticking it to the people and blaming it on those other bad guys. How about Pine View lake camp grounds in the mountains above Ogden Utah. We have some friends working at this camp ground which is operated by "American Land and Leisure" a private company which operates and maintains the park for a profit. The Land is owned by the Federal Government but leased by "American Land and Leisure". The Federal Government closed that park. What was that costing the government? Lets stick it to the people and blame those other bad guys. Please, don't become surface thinkers, and if the government tells you they want to do something for you, RUN. Never let someone else take care of you, take care of yourself. Ok, I'm tired of standing on this soap box pouring out my deepest fears of today. The next blog entry will be as usual, Fun and Light.
The Captain
