River Folk

Got a call this morning from the friend who has a cabin on the river. HELP. The river is at flood stage and water is coming in. So, away we go. Sure enough, water is coming in. So, all the neighbors (river folk) show up on ATV's and start throwing sand bags. There were older people, young and kids. When as much as can be done is done they all mounted their 4 wheelers and headed to the next person in need. When all was said and done, the cabins and houses were saved for today, who knows about tomorrow. Flood stage will last up to 2 weeks. Snow pack in the mountains this year was 140% and the temp is heating up. So, we'll see where this all leads to. However, at the end of the day when all that could be done is done, someone says, "well, lets have a par-tay". Everyone joined at one of the houses and a bar b que has started. River folk, there when you need them, and in the end, what else can you do but par-tay.

From a wet Captain.
