The Starship has left Temecula, what a great stop, too bad it was only for 10 days. The next stop was Oak Hills, right next to Hisperia Ca., This is where the Gypsys parents live. Had a great stop there also. Now it was time to leave the great state of California. As the Starship cleared Calif. and headed into Las Vegas something was starting to go amis. Stoped in Las Vegas for fuel, and as I was fueling up I noticed the front room slide was a little open. Since one of the Gypsys jobs on departure is to secure the inside I thought she must not have closed in completely when we left. Now, I know I should not have doubted her throughness, but, what else could have happened? So, not saying anything (I'm not totally stupid) I went inside and finished closing the slide and then went back to fueling. A couple of minutes later (you see fueling the Starship takes a little time) I look over and the slide is starting to come open again. OK, now I'm a little concerened, but I still don't know what's happening. So as we leave Las Vegas I'm trying to figure what is the problem. Then it came to me. My Extended Warranty has just come to an end. The Starship is starting to fall apart. If you know me well, the first thing I do is consider the worst case. Now the Gypsy is just the opposite. The truth however lies somewhere inbetween. So the whole time we are traveling I am keeping a close eye on this slide and its ever so slowly creeping further out. Now when I say further out I'm saying maybe 1 1/2 inches at most, but for me thats a big sign something is wrong. Made it to St. George Utah and pulled into a campsite, pulled out the trusty internet and located an RV repair facility near by. Oh I forgot to mention, when I pulled into the campsite I noticed a puddle of fluid under the Starship. HYDRAULIC fluid. This ain't good. Thats when I got on the internet. RV repairs scare me, cause I'm at someone elses mercy. Well long story short, I left it with the repair facility and there parting words were, "this looks serious". Serious? its just a hydraulic hose leak, isn't it? "Well, yes, but we got to get that hose out of there to repair or replace it". I,m beginnning to think I may need to go back to Vegas and get some money. Decided to go to a movie instead. Well once again, long story short they repaired the leak. However to repair the hose they had to completely empty my storage bays. Never had I imagined I was hauling so much treasure. In fact now that the repair was completed, all that socalled treasure was laying all over the repair facility floor. That's when I should have taken the picture. How do you get 10 lbs of stuff back in a 5 lb bag? I have been known to work a miracle now and then and it was time to conjure up another one. Ta - Da, Its all in. Made it to our summer home at the Jordanelle State Park in Utah, parked it and went to Salt Lake City to see our Grandaughter. On yeh, Jeremy and Grace are there too. Will post again soon as things are starting to get going again.
See Ya, The Captain and his Gypsy.
